Howarth Park Tennis and Pickleball Court Renovations

Sonoma County, CA. The City of Santa Rosa has announced that renovations for the tennis and pickleball courts at Howarth Community Park are now expected to begin in spring 2026. This adjusted timeline allows for the finalization of design plans and the coordination of the bidding process for both Howarth and Galvin Community Parks.

The renovation plans for Howarth Community Park are complete and have received permit approval. The final layout will include

four dedicated tennis courts and six dedicated pickleball courts. The project will involve major work on some courts and resurfacing on others.

For the new dedicated pickleball courts (on existing Courts 1 and 2), the project will install net posts and nets, and will also add a 4-foot vinyl-coated chain-link fence between each group of three courts. Three tennis courts (Courts 3, 4, and 5) will be completely renovated with a new playing surface and net posts. The final tennis court will be a restored court (Court 6). The project will also include proposed landscape areas.

The bidding process for the Howarth Park project is currently underway. An advertisement for bidding was posted on August 15th, with a bid close date of September 11th. The contract award is planned for September 30th.
