Help us unlock a $60,000 USTA matching grant to restore championship quality courts to Santa Rosa

  • Total Project Cost: $120,000

  • Projected USTA Grant: $60,000 (Triggered by your donation)

  • Community Goal: $60,000 (Remaining)
Your donation ensures our students have a safe place to learn, compete, and grow.

The courts at Montgomery High have not been resurfaced in 20 years. Today, the surface is worn, cracked, and increasingly unsafe for student-athletes and physical education classes. Due to the dire financial state of the Santa Rosa City Schools district, this project cannot move forward without community support.

Frequently Asked
Questions:

Why is this project necessary now? The courts at Montgomery High have not been resurfaced in 20 years, making them a significant safety liability for student-athletes and the local community.

How does the matching grant work? The SCTA is raising $60,000 locally to trigger a $60,000 1:1 matching grant from the USTA for this $120,000 modernization project. By reaching our community goal, we unlock the additional funding needed to complete the work. This means for every $1 you contribute, we secure an additional $1 from the USTA, effectively doubling the impact of your donation.

Why isn't the school district paying for this? Due to the dire financial state of the Santa Rosa City Schools district, this specific project cannot move forward without outside community support.

Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes. The Sonoma County Tennis Association (SCTA) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

What is the SCTA's EIN? Our Employer Identification Number is: #61-2262497.

Who is managing these funds? The SCTA Board of Directors provides direct oversight. Our leadership includes Katie Martin (President), Geoff Marcy (VP), Mary Lehman (Treasurer), Corky Cramer (Community Relations), Stella Gonzalez (Secretary), and Mauricio Rodriguez (Webmaster).

Can I donate by check instead of online? Yes. Please make checks payable to the Sonoma County Tennis Association and please mail them to: 2508 Cedar Berry Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 Ensure you write "Montgomery Project" in the memo line.

What happens if we exceed the $60,000 community goal? Any additional funds will be held by the SCTA for the ongoing maintenance of the Montgomery courts and future tennis infrastructure projects in Santa Rosa.
